IBCF holds seminar on welfare banking
Islamic Banks Consultative Forum (IBCF), an apex organisation of the banks having Islamic operations in Bangladesh, has recently organised a national seminar on 'Welfare Banking and Cash Waqf' at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital.
Chairman of Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission (BSEC) Professor Dr Khairul Hossain attended the seminar as the chief guest, while Chairman of Social Islami Bank Limited (SIBL) Professor Anwarul Azim Arif presided over the event.
IBCF Vice-chairman and Convener of Seminar Preparatory Committee AKM Nurul Fazal Bulbul moderated the programme.
Former adviser to the caretaker government and former chairman of National Board of Revenue (NBR) Abdul Abdul Muyeed Chowdhury, former State Minister for Foreign Affairs Abul Hasan Chowdhury, NBR's former chairman Shah Abdul Hannan and Dr Muhammad Abdul Mazid addressed the seminar.
Managing Director and CEO of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited Md Mahbub Ul Alam presented the keynote paper.
Managing Director and CEO of EXIM Bank Dr Mohammed Haider Ali Miah, Managing Director and CEO of FSIBL Syed Waseque Md Ali and Managing Director and CEO of AIBL Farman R Chowdhury discussed on the topic.
Economists, educationists, director and CEOs of different banks, Islamic scholars, business leaders and local elite also attended the seminar.
