Salesman gets GPA-5 in SSC exams
BARISHAL, May 14: Md Bulbul Hossain, a salesman of a mobile store, achieved GPA-5 in this year's Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinations.
Bulbul attended SSC examinations from Science Group under Government Gaurnadi Pilot Secondary School.
He is the son of Md Khalilur Rahman and Aleya Begum of Boro Dulali Village under Barthi Union in Gaurnadi Upazila of the district. His father is a rickshaw-van puller. However, his father cannot do any heavy work as he is suffering from heart disease. His mother is suffering from various diseases including diabetes and blood pressure.
To maintain his family, Bulbul has been working as a salesman in a mobile phone shop at Gaurnadi Bus Stand area from class nine. Every day he works there from 9am to 9pm. He gets two-hour break from 11am to 1pm. He spends the time in private tuition and taking lunch.
Regarding private tuition, he said that he did not have to give any tuition fee. Knowing about his talent, Prof Md Yunus Ali of Islamic History Department of Gaurnadi College used to teach him privately every day from 11am to 12pm free of cost. Besides, he achieved this success by studying for three to four hours after his work at night and in the morning.
Moreover, Bulbul got GPA-5 from the same school in class eight. He said he wants to be a doctor.
Every day he is struggling to survive with extreme poverty. Locals have doubts about Bulbul's higher education for his family's poor condition.
Meanwhile, the support of the rich is needed to fulfil the dream of this meritorious student.
