Four villages flooded in Kalapara

At least four villages in Kalapara upazila of Patuakhali district were inundated after two embankments damaged in tidal surge on Friday morning due to cyclonic storm Fani.

Administration started working to move around 20,000 people living near the dams to safe places .

The flooded villages are Charipara, Chandupara of Lalua union, Nizampur of Mahipur union, and Mirbari adjacent ot Kuakata sea port.





Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Tanvir Rahman said as many as 9050 people took shelter to different cyclone centers till this afternoon.

Cyclone Fani started making its landfall on the Indian state of in Odisha since early Friday which effects people in the villages witnessed.
