Int’l Congregation on Women Empowerment, Gender Diversity & Financial Inclusion

Dhaka International University (DIU), Vivekanandha College of Arts and Sciences for Women, Tamil Nadu and MTC Global, Bangalore, India are going to jointly organize a two-day-long International Congregation on 29 & 30 April at its Green Road Campus on women empowerment, gender diversity and financial inclusion of women.

About 35 papers focusing on various aspects of women empowerment, gender diversity and financial inclusion will be presented at the congregation. Apart from the academic paper presentation, a good number of a panel discussion on the above-mentioned topics will also be held on the occasion. Prominent speakers, academics, researcher, activists, delegates and students from India, Indonesia and Bangladesh will participate in the event.

Dr. Mohammed Farashuddin, Chief Adviser & Founder Vice Chancellor, East West University will inaugurate the programme as Chief Guest while Michael Schulthei, Deputy Head of Mission, German Embassy Dhaka will be present as Guest of Honour. Prof. Dr. Mijanur Rahman, Vice-chancellor, Jagannath University will join the second session as Chief Guest whereas Barrister Shah Ali Farhad, Special Assistant to Prime Minister has kindly given his consent to be a Guest of Honour.

Dato Seri. Dr. Zahidul Haque, Chancellor, ASEAN University International, Jakarta, Indonesia; Prof. Dr. Md. Abul Kashem, VC, HSTU; Prof. Dr. Md. Golam Samdani Fakir, VC, Green University; Barrister Shameem Haider Patwary, MP & Vice-chairman, BoT, DIU; Prof. Masuda M. Rashid Chowdhury, M.P, Woman Entrepreneur and educationist; Prof. Dr. Rahmat Ullah, Dean, Faculty of Law, University of Dhaka; Prof. Dr. K M Mohsin, VC, DIU and Dr. S Q Patwari, chairman, BoT, DIU will be present at the congregation among others.

There will be a separate youth session for the students to present paper and exchange their views and to encourage them to participate in decision-making process. On the second day, the foreign delegates will visit the Yunus Centre at Mirpur. A cultural programme performed by the DIU students is scheduled to be held at the end of the programme.
