Wings demanded stern action against Nusrat murderers
A protest meeting to take stern punishment against the murderers of Nusrat Jahan Rafi was held recently organized by Wings at the Shahbagh Intersection.
Wings president Tootli Rahman was the initiator of the meeting. Responding to the demands, which turned out to be the demands of all people of the country, Bangladesh Heritage Craft Foundation, Junta Club of Bangladesh, Women Entrepreneurs Association, Rotary Club, Association of Women Entrepreneurs, Women Junior Chambers, Gulshan Society, Ain o Salish Kendra joined the meeting along with the other conscious citizens of the country.
All of them demands punitive actions against the culprits who set Nusrat ablaze to death in excruciating way.
Madrasa student and Alim examinee Nusrat lost her battle for life, five days after she was set afire on April 6, an incident that touched off outrage all over the country. A group of five people poured kerosene on the 18-year-old girl and set her afire allegedly for refusing to withdraw a case against the principal of the madrasa over sexual assault on her late last month. Police had already arrested some of the accused in connection with the incident.
The speakers of the protest meeting called for keeping authorities under pressure to ensure strict punishment against those murderers and rapists so that the justice be prevailed.
