Sri Lanka terror attack slain child Zayan Chowdhury, the grandson of Awami League Presidium Member Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, MP, was laid to arrest at Banani Graveyard in the capital on Wednesday. Earlier, a namaj-e-janaja was held at the Banani Chairmanbari Maidan where hundreds of people joined.

Before the burial, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina visited the residence of her paternal cousin Sheikh Selim, the maternal grandfather of Zayan at Banani in the capital to console the family members over the heart-rending demise of Zayan aged 8. She entered his house around 2:40pm and stayed there over an hour. Following the entrance of the Prime Minister, a heart-rending scene unfolded as Sheikh Selim and other relatives burst into tears there.
Sheikh Hasina prayed for the salvation of the departed soul of Zayan and consoled the family members.

Sheikh Selim, MP, and his family members as well as other senior leaders of Awami League were present at the time.
A Class II student of an Uttara School, Zayan is the son of Moshiul Haque Chowdhury and Sheikh Sonia.

Moshiul also suffered splinter injuries in kidney and liver in the deadly terror attack in Sri Lanka's capital on Easter Sunday.
He and his wife went to Sri Lanka on a vacation with two of their children. His wife and younger son were in their hotel room when the blast rocked the hotel. The death toll from the attacks that tore apart several churches and hotels in cities around Sri Lanka rose to 359 today, with 500 injured.
The body of Zayan Chowdhury was brought to Dhaka from Colombo in the afternoon.

A Sri Lankan Airlines flight carrying the body of Zayan Chowdhury landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport around 12:42pm.
Former Minister and Zayan's grandfather Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim and Sheikh Helal Uddin, MP, received the body at the airport. Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen was present at that time.

Besides, Awami League (AL) Advisory Council Member Tofail Ahmed, AL acting General Secretary Mahbub-Ul-Alam Hanif, former Railways Minister M Mujibul Haque, Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam and Director General of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Benazir Ahmed, were also present.
Later, his body was taken to the residence of Sheikh Selim.
