Mild heat wave grips part of country

A mild heat wave is sweeping over Khulna division and the regions of Tangail, Faridpur, Rajshahi, Pabna, Sitakundu, Rangamati, Feni, and Patuakhali, Cox'sbazar, Kutubdia and Teknaf  and it may continue for few more days.
Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country, according to Met Office.
Talking with the Daily Observer Dr Md Abul Kalam, a weather expert, said that weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.
Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rajshahi division and at one or two places over Rangpur, Khulna, Dhaka, Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions and the regions of Noakhali and Cumilla with isolated hails at places.
Country's highest rainfall for the last 24-hours till 6 am was recorded at 51 millimeters (mm) at Kumarkhali.
Highest temperature on Sunday was recorded at 37.8 degrees Celsius at Rajshahi while the lowest temperature Monday was recorded at 19 degrees Celsius at Kumarkhali.
