Ruhul put on 5-day remand


A Feni court on Saturday placed Sonagazi upazila unit Awami League President Ruhul Amin on five-day remand over his involvement in madrasa girl Nusrat Jahan Rafi murder case.

Senior Judicial Magistrate Shoraf Uddin Ahmed passed the order while Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) produced him before the court demanding seven-day remand.

Police arrested Ruhul Amin from his house in Takia road of the municipality on Friday.

Nusrat, a student of Feni's Sonagazi Islamia Senior Fazil Madrasa, was set afire on April 6 allegedly for refusing to withdraw the case against the principal. She breathed her last five days later at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
