National Health Service Week begins

National Health Service Week-2019 on Tuesday began in the country for the first time ever with a view to reaching health care services to grassroots people easily.
The week was formally inaugurated by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina through a video message.  
GAIBANDHA: In the morning, an inaugural function was held at the auditorium of Zila Shilpakala Academy with Civil Surgeon (CS) Dr ABM Abu Hanif in the chair.
Deputy commissioner (DC) M Abdul Matin addressed the function as chief guest while Police Super (SP) Engineer Abdul Mannan Miah, Superintendent of Gaibandha Modern Hospital Dr Mahfuzar Rahman, Deputy Director of Department of Family Planning M Saiful Islam, General Secretary of Awami League (AL), district unit, Abu Bakar Siddique and Gaibandha Municipality Mayor Advocate Shah Masud Zahangir Kabir Milon were present at the event as special guests.
The speakers, in their speech, said the government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly to ensure healthcare services to all.
The AL-led government had set up community clinics across the country to bring the grassroots people of the country under health services and is providing 30 crucial medicines to rural people specially children and mothers from there, they added.
DC M Abdul Matin, in his speech, said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu had included health as one of the five basic necessities in the Constitution.
The DC also urged the physicians, technicians, and employees of the health department here to be more punctual and professional to perform their respective duty so that none could criticise them negatively.
Earlier, a video documentary on country's health services and inaugural speech of the PM was also screened through multimedia projector marking the week.
Talking to The Daily Observer, CS Dr ABM Abu Hanif said special drives on cleanliness and mock rehearsal on fire extinguishing were also held marking the week.
NATORE: During the conference in the DC office,  lawmaker of Sadar Constituency Shafiqul Islam Shimul, woman lawmaker of reserved seat Ratna Ahmed, DC Md Shariaz, Zila Parishad Chairman Advocate Sajedur Rahaman Khan, Police Super Saifullah Al-Mamun, and CS Dr Azizul Islam were present.
In this connection, health-related programmes will continue till April 20.
PIROJPUR: Local CS office organised a function with CS Dr Md Farque Alam in the chair while DC Abu Ali Md Sazzad Hossain attended the event as chief guest and acting SP Mollah Azad Hossain was special guest. Among others, District Education Officer Sunil Chandra Shil, and Deputy Director of Family Planning Directorate Ram Chandra Das were also present.
Speakers said, this programme is the first ever in the country which will continue till April 20.
After the programme, a rally was brought out from Sadar Hospital premises, and it paraded main roads of the town and ended on CS office premises.
