Four killed in road mishaps in 3 dists

Four persons were killed and 11 others injured in separate road accidents in three districts- Gopalganj, Thakurgaon and Rajshahi, in three days.
GOPALGANJ: Two persons were killed and six injured in separate road accidents in the district in two days.
A woman was killed and four others were injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Khulna highway at Tilchhara area under Kashiani Upazila of the district on Tuesday morning.
The deceased was identified as Shamsunnahar Begum, 55, wife of Md Akram Ali Sheikh of Faridpur District.
Police and locals said the deceased along with her husband and others were going to Ramdia Bazaar in Kashiani by a private car. On the way the front wheel of the car became damaged at the said area, causing the car to hit a roadside tree and leaving her dead on the spot and four injured.
The injured were admitted to Kashiani Upazila Health Complex.
On the other hand, a girl was killed and two others were injured in an accident on Dhaka-Khulna highway at Pingulia area in Kashiani Upazila of the district on Monday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Munni Akhter, 17, daughter of Murad Sheikh of Chandani Village under Boalmari Upazila in Faridpur District.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kashiani Police Station (PS) Md Azizur Rahman said the victims were coming to Gopalganj by a motorcycle when a Pirojpur-bound bus from Dhaka dashed the bike at the said area, leaving the three bikers injured.
They were rushed to Kashiani Hospital where Munni Akhter was declared dead.
The identities of the injured could not be confirmed.
Police seized the bus.
THAKURGAON: A labourer was killed and five others were injured in a road accident at Krishtapur area in Sadar Upazila of the district on Monday noon.
The deceased was identified as Rafiqul Islam, 24, son of Abu Hanif of Shibganj Upazila in Bogura District.
The injured are: Ziaurl Islam, Roshan Ali, Ashraful Islam, Golam Rabbani and Golap Ali.
Police and locals said six labourers were coming to Krishtapur by a nosimon (locally made vehicle) when it turned turtle on the road at the said area, leaving one killed on the spot and five injured.
Sadar PS OC Ashikur Rahman confirmed the incident and said, an unnatural death case was filed in this connection.
RAJSHAHI: A construction worker was killed in a road accident in Godagari Upazila of the district on Sunday.
Deceased Aminul Islam, 20, was the son of Solaiman Ali of Nandapur Village under Rishikul Union in the upazila.
After finishing his work, the deceased was returning home in the afternoon when he fell from a trolley, leaving him seriously injured.
He was rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where he was declared dead on Sunday night.
