Dhaka University (DU) authorities will observe the historic Mujibnagar Day on Wednesday marking the oath-taking anniversary of the country's first government during the Liberation War in 1971.
On the occasion, a discussion will be held around 11:00am today at Teacher-Student Centre (TSC) auditorium with DU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman in the chair. Teachers, students and staffs of the university will attend the programme.
On April 17, 1971, the tiny mango grove-covered village in Baidyanathtala witnessed the ceremonial formation of the provisional government of Bangladesh and millions of people listened to the announcement of the formation of the sovereign government over radio.
