Cultural campaign against tobacco starts in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, April 16: A cultural campaign programme against the use of tobacco launched in Chattogram. Bangladesh Institute of Theatre Arts (BITA) organised the programme at the Bangabandhu Auditorium in Chattogram Press Club on Monday.
Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin presided over the inauguration ceremony of the function as the chief guest while Dr Azizur Rahman Siddique, Deputy Director of Chittagong Division and Civil Surgeon, Sumon Barua, Education Officer of CCC, Shariful ALam, Lead Consultant of CTFK and Nezar Hossain, President of CAB were present as the special guests. The mayor has vowed to ban smoking in public places in the port city within the next year. 'The city will be smoke free in with a year and those tobacco shops, which are in near educational institutions of CCC will remove soon', he added.
