Vision impaired Nasima sits for HSC exams
SREEPUZR, GAZIPUR, Apr 15: A vision impaired girl Nasima Akhter is taking part in the Higher Secondary Examinations (HSC), which started on April 1.
With the aid of an amanuensis, Nasima, a student of Piyar Ali University College in Sreepur Upazila of the district, sat for the HSC examinations at Freedom Fighter Rahmat Ali Government College centre.
In-charge of the centre Professor Nurul Islam said Nasima took part in examinations alongside the general students. As she is visually impaired, special consideration has been given to her, he added.
In this connection, Sreepur Upazila Nirbahi Officer Rehana Akhter said Nasima is a good example of woman development. Although she is blind, she is taking part in the examinations alongside regular students due to her will to gain knowledge, she added.
Principal of Piyar Ali University College AKM Abul Khair said, "Nasima has been given the opportunity of free education in our educational institution. She is a regular student. With the permission of the education board, she is sitting for the exams with the general students. We are optimistic about her good results."
