Five areas adorned with Alpona

'Berger Alponay Boishakh 1426' initiated by Asiatic Experiential Marketing Ltd (Asiatic EXP), the largest street painting festival of the country, has honoured a long-standing tradition of our culture. Berger Paints Bangladesh Ltd. has associated itself with the festival this year, with the 7th instance of the annual event.
The event started at 11 pm on April 13 and continued till April 14 early morning. The painting in all the cities had been initiated at the same time on April 13, 2019. The festival to celebrate the Bengali New Year was open to everyone.
Like the previous year, this year event was also held at Manik Mia Avenue (Dhaka), DC Hill Area (Chattogram), Nabab Bari Road (Bogura), Keane Bridge (Sylhet) and Shib Bari Mor (Khulna). Continuing the tradition of the previous years in Dhaka, the Alpona was drawn on the streets of Manik Mia Avenue. Mohammad Moniruzzaman along with Sheikh Moniruzzaman Liton conducted the painting at Manik Mia Avenue.
Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Speaker of the National Parliament; Atiqul Islam, Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation; and Asaduzzaman Noor, MP inaugurated the main event of 'Alponay Boishakh' at Manik Mia Avenue. Rupali Chowdhury, Managing Director of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited; Sara Zaker, Vice Chairperson of Asiatic 3Sixty; Mohsin Habib Chowdhury, Senior General Manager of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited; A K M Sadeque Nawaj, General Manager-Marketing of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited; Iresh Zaker, Managing Director of Asiatic Experiential Marketing Ltd (Asiatic EXP); and artist Mohammad Moniruzzaman were also present.
The painted area in Dhaka has spanned 300,000 square feet. In the rest of the four cities, the size of the Alpona has spanned up to 40,000 to 60000 square feet. Altogether 2500 people including a number of artists participated in this Alpona painting festival.
Asiatic Experiential Marketing Ltd (Asiatic EXP) was the organiser of the event where Berger Paints Bangladesh Ltd. was the title sponsor.
