Mirpur factory fire under control

The fire that broke out at a garment factory in Mirpur-14 area of Dhaka on Sunday afternoon was brought under control after two hours.

Firefighting units brought the fire under control around 7:35pm.

Ershad Hossain, duty officer of Fire Service and Civil Defence central control room, said the fire originated at the godown on the 5th floor of the 10-storey building around 5:17pm.

He further added on information, 15 firefighting units rushed in and brought the fire under control around 7:25pm.

“Being informed, a total of 15 units of Fire Service and Civil Defence have rushed to the spot and controlled the blaze at around 7.35 pm,” Officer-in-Charge of Kafrul Police Station Mohammad Aslam told BSS.

There was no report of any casualty in the fire.
