Madrasa principal instructed, Shamim designed the killing
Madrasa principal Siraj-ud-doula ordered the killing of Nusrat Jahan Rafi, who died after a gruesome arson attack in Feni, said Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) on Saturday.
The killing plan was designed by Shahdat Hossain Shamim, it added.
Bonoj Kumar Mazumder, head of the PBI, disclosed the matter at a briefing at its office in Dhanmondi, Dhaka at noon.
He said, “Four people wearing Burqa took part in the killing mission on the roof of the madrasa building. Among the four people, one was a girl. PBI found the involvement of 13 people in the murder.”
On 6 April, Nusrat was set afire at an examination centre allegedly by people loyal to the principal of her madrasa after he was arrested and subsequently suspended as she had accused him of sexually harassing her.
Nusrat Jahan lost her battle for life on Wednesday night, five days after the incident at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.
Twelve people have so far been arrested in connection with the arson attack.
