FR Tower owner gets bail

In an interval of 14 days of FR Tower fire in Banani that killed 26 people, Tasvir Ul Islam, one of the owners of the high rise building, was granted bail by a Metropolitan Magistrate on Thursday.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Tofazzal Hossain granted his bail as he was ill and an aged person. Besides the sections of the case do not apply to him, said General Recording Officer Md Rakib Hossain.
Tasvir Ul Islam is the president of Kurigram BNP unit and also member of the national executive committee.
Former Metropolitan Public Prosecutor Advocate Ehsanul Haque Samaji moved his bail petition in the court.
However, another accused Engineer SMHI Faruque, owner of the land on which FR Tower stands, is now in jail.
On April 8, another court in Dhaka rejected the bail petitions of Tasvir Ul and Faruque sent them to jail on expiry of their seven-day remand in connection with the case.
A team of Detective Branch arrested Faruque and Tasvir Ul Islam on March 30.
