Rafi murder: Madrasa principal's niece among 2 remanded
A court in Feni on Thursday put two more persons, arrested over gruesome arson attack on madrasa student Nusrat Jahan Rafi, on a five day remand each.
Those who were remanded are Jubayer Ahmed, a student of Sonagazi Fazil Madrasa, and Umme Sultana Poppy, a niece of the main suspect madrasa principal Siraj ud Doula.
Feni Senior Judicial Magistrate Sharafuddin passed the order at noon after police produced them before the court.
Rafi, an Aleem examinee from Sonagazi Fazil Madrsaa, died on Wednesday night, five days after she was set afire at the madrasha.
The body was handed over to the family members after completion of the postmortem.
Earlier on April 6, she was set on fire allegedly by some fellows as she refused to withdraw a case filed against the madrasha principal for sexual harassment.
She was immediately taken to the DMCH for better treatment where she underwent a surgery under life support on Tuesday but succumbed to injuries at last.
