Jute mill workers demonstrate in Khulna, Ctg

Workers of state-owned jute mills in Chattogram and Khulna demonstrated on Monday, demanding the government accept their demands, including implementation of wage commission.
In Khulna, workers of nine jute mills brought out procession from their factories and paraded through key areas of the city.  They said the government has not fulfilled its promise to accept their nine-point demand.
In Chattogram, workers of Hafiz Jute Mill brought out a procession from the factory. They paraded through Sheetalpur and Baro Aulia before returning to the factory. Workers' leaders urged the government to accept their demands.
They also announced to blockade the Dhaka-Chattogram Highway and railway on Tuesday from 9am to 11am to press home their demands.    -UNB
