House being built on orphan’s land in Rajshahi
RAJSHAHI, Mar 14: Allegations have been found against a local influential people that he is building a house on the grabbed land of an orphan in the city.
Seeking relief in this connection, the victim filed written complaint with Boalia Model Police Station and Rajshahi Development Authority.
The accused is Liton Sarker, son of late Habibur Rahman of Ramchandrapur Village under No. 23 Ward of the city.
The plaintiff is Lutfon Ara Begum, daughter of late Waznabi Sarker of the same area.
As per the complaint, Waznabi Sarker died in 1971, and his daughter Lutfon Ara Begum and her three sisters had been the owners of the land since then. On January 14 last, the accused Liton Sarker, along with his cohorts, grabbed the land and started building house there.
Hearing the news, the plaintiff and her family members tried to resist them, but the grabbers drove them away. Finding no alternative, the victim filed a written complaint with Boalia PS and RDA.
While asked, Lutfon Ara Begum said, "After the death of my father, the land was recorded as per the names of our four sisters. We had been owners of the land since then. But, Liton Sarker grabbed the land forcefully and started to build a house there."
While asked, Liton Sarker said, "I am building house on my grandfather's land. The complaint of Lutfon Ara Begum is false."
In this connection, Officer-in-Charge of the PS Aman Ullah said, "Lutfon Ara filed a complaint. We will take steps after investigation."
Executive Engineer of RDA Abdullah Al Tarik said, "We got the complaint that one Liton Sarker is building house on the grabbed land. But, he did not take permission from us. We have already sent legal notice to him. Later, we will file case."
