Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni said, at DIU 8th convocation, that the most valuable wealth of a nation is its educated people. From today all of you are included into this wealth. The country will move forward with the help of your hand. I strongly believe that all of you are spend your knowledge and skills to develop the country that you already gain from your university. Aiming with Vision 2021 and Vision 2041 Bangladesh is running on the development pavement. Especially Bangladesh has already made tremendous success in the food reservation and women empowerment sector. The developed countries of the world are recommending Bangladesh as rapidly developing economic country in Asia. In this successful journey, new graduates will contribute with their own skills. She added.
She also said that you have no alternative to be skilled in information technology, if you want to face the challenge of 21st century. DIU is fulfilling that needful job. This university is producing IT skilled generation. I am very glad to hear that DIU is a digital university. I have no doubt that the university is playing a vital role to build the 'Digital Bangladesh'. In the mean time she showed recommendation for entrepreneurial activities.
Daffodil International University (DIU) organized its 8th convocation with colorful events yesterday at permanent campus of the university, Ashulia. Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni, MP presided over the convocation ceremony and conferred the degrees. Prof Abdul Mannan, Chairman, University Grants Commission of Bangladesh, was present as the special guest. Dr Pornchai Mongkhonvanit, President of SIAM University, Bangkok attended the convocation as the convocation speaker. The convocation ceremony was also addressed by Dr Md Sabur Khan and Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Yousfuf Mahbubul Islam, Pro-VC Prof Dr SM Mahabub Ul Haque  Majumder, FAHS Dean Prof Ahmed Ismail Mostafa, and along with others addressed at the convocation.
In the 8th convocation a total number 5631 students was conferred upon graduation and post-graduation degrees, and among them 17 best result oriented graduates were awarded 'Gold Medal' in different categories.
Prof Abdul Mannan said that people of Bangladesh had freed the country to fulfill a dream. The total dream is not fulfill still now. But education, health and many other sectors have already achieved the top rank. Now this time, the young generation has lot of responsibilities to make the country developed and happy.  
UGC chairman also said that young people are the rudder of a nation. If rudder mistakes the way, boat never can reach to the goal. So, you have to be responsible to perform your duty accurately.
He urged the students to become an entrepreneur for keeping sustainability in economic sector. Entrepreneurs can manage lot of employment. In the meantime he praise to Daffodil for its' entrepreneurial activities.  
Dr. Pornchai Mongkhonvanit said, DIU has successfully prepared you to be here today. And it's you who will direct the nation, rule the job market and also create job placement for many others by being entrepreneurs.
He said, when I look at you, I see engineers engineering dreams for the humanity to build sustainable tools which will lead smoothly to the next generation. All the
Innovative research centers, clubs, institutes founded at your university have made you competent to take the challenges of this highly competitive world. When I look at you, I see IT specialists, corporate leaders, pharmacists, journalists, various professionals and teachers - all future leaders leading their countrymen to serve the whole world. The five faculties with twenty three promising departments prove my vision.
