First ever Dhaka-Kolkata ship service opens Mar 29


People who love to travel, now can experience a journey by ship from Dhaka to Kolkata.

BIWTC ship-- MV Madhumoti- is all set to give the opportunity to the travelers.

The first ever Dhaka-Kolkata ship service will kick off on March 29, said a press release.

BIWTC sources said the corporation at the government directives will begin the test run with its own vessel.

'MV Madhumoti' will depart from Mary Anderson ghat in Pagna of Narayanganj on March 29 for Kolkata via Barishal-Mongla-Sundarbans-Antihara-Haldia route.

The Dhaka-Kolkata fare for family suit (two persons)-Tk 15,000, first class (per person)- Tk 5,000, delux cabin (two persons)- Tk 10,000, economy chair (per person)--Tk 8,000 and deck fare (per person)-- Tk 1,5000.

Bangladesh and India had signed an agreement in 2018 in floating Dhaka-Kolkata passenger liner.
