Radhuni Kirtimoti Award 2018 given to recognize women's contribution

Outstanding in their respective field, four women has got the Radhuni Kirtimoti Award 2018. On the eve of International Women's Day, the 'Radhuni Kirtimoti Shommanona -2018' was given through a colourful programme at the Ballroom of the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital on March 2.
In order to achieve outstanding results in journalism, social welfare and business venture, Square Food and Beverage Limited's popular brand 'Radhuni' has been awarding this award for more than a decade. This year the 'Karthi' has been added to the field of Radhuni Kirtimoti.
The theme of the International Women's Day, 2019 declared by the United Nations: 'Balance for Better: Equality for the better'. In this context, Square Fashions Limited Director Anika Chowdhury delivered welcome speech.
She congratulated four Kirtimoti  in advance and hoped that their success would motivate them to create more kirtmati of the future.
Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu, former captain of Bangladesh cricket team, founder entrepreneur of leather brand 'Gutipa' and Taslima Miji, managing director of Leathernet Limited, and Directors and Chief of Communication Facilitate DiCastalia, Communications and People Sabila Inun were present as special guests. Parvez Saiful Islam, Chief Operating Officer, Square Food and Beverage Limited was also present on the occasion.
The Kirtimoti  Journalist Award for the year 2018 has gone to Rosi Ferdous of Dhaka for her bold and timely report on various issues including corruption, irregularities, injustice to women and children, farmers suffering for more than three decades.
Taslima Ferdous of Naogaon got the award to relentlessly working for rehabilitation of helpless, destitute and old women. Kirtimoti  Hit Mitani Award for the year 2018.
Kohinoor Yasmin of Dhaka received the Kirtimoti  Entrepreneur Award for the year 2018, to make eighteen thousand neglected women in the grassroots level to be self-reliant through private initiative.
Country's iconic cricketer, former captain Salma Khatun, hailed from Khulna has received the Kirtimoti  Athlete of the Year Award for the year 2018, an award which was inducted newly.
Professor Ajay Roy, Gazi Ashraf Hossain Lipu, Taslima Miji, Sabila Inun and Anika Chowdhury handed over the honorary crest and cheque to the recipients of the Radhuni Kirtimoti  award.
It is to be noted a selected panel, on the basis of the nomination of all the newsmen of the country has selected the Radhuni Kirtimoti  awardees.
The panel included Daily Kaler Kantha Editor Imdadul Haque Milon, Associate Editor of Daily Prothom Alo Anisul Haque, Associate Editor of daily Samakal Ajay Das Gupta, founder and executive director of Innovation for Welfare Foundation Monira Rahman, and founder of Nonprofit Friendship Bangladesh Executive Director Runa Khan.
After the distribution of the prizes, popular musician Dilshad Nahar Kana performed music to the delight of the audience.
