Nine businesses fined in two districts
Nine business establishments were fined different amounts in two districts- Barishal and Sylhet, on Wednesday.
BARISHAL: The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection, in a drive at Goila Bazaar of Agoiljhara Upazila in the district on Wednesday noon, fined five businesses Taka 21,500.
Of the businesses, Modern Bakery owner Rubel Jamaddar was fined Taka 7,000, Sree Durga Mistanna Bhandar owner Gosai Das fined Taka 7,000, Sadia Cosmetics owner Rubel Sarder Taka 3,000, owner of another cosmetics shop Nurul Islam fined Taka 3,000, and a grocery shop owner Abdul Haque Sarder fined Taka 1,500.
At that time, Assistant Director of the Directorate Shah Shoaib Mia and Upazila Sanitary Inspector Shuklal Sikder were also present.
SYLHET: A mobile court on Wednesday fined four business establishments in the city for irregularities.
Executive magistrates Salik Rumaya and Muhammad Helal Chowdhury conducted the court at Kazirbazar area of the city.
Shwad was fined Taka 20,000 and Khawa-Dawa Restaurant fined Taka 3,000 for making food in unhygienic environment. Shaheen Auto Rice Mill was fined Taka 2,000 and Shaheen Traders fined Taka 10,000 for not using jute pack.
