Ex-student of Notre Dame College murdered

A young man was killed in a rented house in the city on Wednesday.
Police has recovered the body of the former student of Notre Dame College from his flat at Kadomtola in Basabo. The deceased, Eugene Hansie Gonsalves, 22, a student of degree second-year of the college, had multiple injury marks on his body, police said. Rashed Hasan, Senior Assistant Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, said the victim's hands and legs were tied
with an 'Orna' or scarf. There were stab wounds on his body inflicted by sharp weapon.
A student of Notre Dame College, Gonzales was expelled from the institution for not attending classes regularly. He had rented the flat in Kadomtola on February 1. During his meeting with the landlord, he had introduced a woman as his sister, who he said would be living with him in the flat. But they did not stay in the flat regularly, said the police official citing the landlord.
"The two came home together on Tuesday. Then at 11:00pm, a neighbour noticed that the flat's door was ajar and informed the landlord. The landlord then went inside the flat and found the dead body and the woman missing."
Police recovered the body at around 1:00am on Wednesday. His family members live in Chattogram and police are trying to contact them.
