Medical student killed in Khulna road crash

KHULNA, Feb 13: A youth was killed in a road accident at Rupsha Bridge bypass road area adjacent to Labonchara Police Station in the city on Wednesday morning. The deceased was identified as Ariful Islam Akash, 22, a third year student of batch-5 under K-25 of Khulna Medical College.
Officer-in-Charge of Labonchara Police Station Shafiqul Islam said on information police rushed to the spot and found Akash lying on the highway with his motorcycle.
They sent him Khulna Medical College Hospital where duty doctor declared him dead.
Police could not immediately know the cause behind the accident. The body was sent to morgue for an autopsy.
Following the accident, students of KMC put on barricade on Khulna-Mongla highway.
They withdrew blockade after high officials of KMP assured them of taking stern action in this connection.
