Kidnapped transport businessman yet to be rescued
RAJSHAHI, Feb 11: A transport businessman, who was kidnapped nine days back in Bagha Upazila of the district, is yet to be rescued.
His wife filed a complaint with Bagha Police Station on Saturday.
The missing trader is Sultan Ali, 51, son of late Abdul Pramanik of Chaktatari Village.
Police said Sultan Ali went out receiving a mobile phone call. Later, he was taken away in a CNG auto-rickshaw from beside the Eidgah.
Sultan's wife Ranu Begum said, "My husband could not be fond even after nine days of kidnapping. Three days after abduction, kidnapers called me from the number 09638548509 on my mobile phone and told that my husband was with them, and asked to give Taka 10,000 to him."
She also said, "We sent Taka 10,000 through Sultan Ali's mobile number 0163937989, but the kidnapers did not return him back."
Officer-in-Charge (Investigation) of Bagha Police Station Abdul Wahab said, "We received a complaint. We are trying to rescue the trader."
