Hercules restarts on Maasranga TV

Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, one of the most popular TV series of the world in the late 90s has returned to Bangladeshi TVs. Maasranga Television is airing the action-packed serial from Sunday to Thursday at 9pm. The first two episodes have already been aired and the third one is slated to be aired today in Bangla.
Being a highly popular TV show in the west, the series also drew in large number of fans in the 90s at our Bangladeshi households. Viewers from all ages used to wait till night for the Bangla-dubbed version of the series on Bangladesh Television. The series was aired in six seasons from 1995 to 1999. The American series was filmed amidst the natural sceneries of New Zealand. It brought back the more humanistic aspects of the Greek hero Hercules. The series incorporated features from Greek, Oriental, Mesopotamian, Egyptian, Semitic mythologies, making it attractive for a diverse range of viewers.
The typical plotline involved Hercules saving poor villagers in different parts of ancient Greece and the surrounding areas with his sidekick Lolaus against ancient monsters, evil warlords, mystic magicians and some whimsical Greek gods. As such there were also comedy skits in the series.
