Sports day @ NDUB
The much awaited Annual Sports Day of Notre Dame University Bangladesh (NDUB) took place on 26th January 2019, with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere, says a press release.
The day started off with the national anthem and colourful inaugural ceremony. Preside over by Professor Fr. Patrick D. Gaffney, CSC, the program was graced by Fr. James Cruze, CSC, Chairperson, Board of Trustees as chief guest. Among other respected personas, registrar, teachers, office staffs and students were present during the ceremony.
Another highlight of the day was the circumambulation of the torch which was carried by by Arnab Sangma, a student of BBA of that university. Right after that the participants took the oath being administered by Mostafisur Rahman, a teacher of NDUB. Formally the program was inaugurated with the release of pigeon and balloons by chief guest and the chairman of this event.
Professor Fr. Patrick D. Gaffney, CSC, in his speech, focuses the importance of sports in student life and the chief guest praised NDUB saying that NDUB is creating skilled, creative and worthy manpower though providing standard education and teaching moral value.
In 35 events, almost three hundred and thirty students participated during the whole day program. Apart from the students, chief guest, teachers, office staffs took parts in some events. At the end of competition, attractive gifts, crests, books, medals and certificates were given away among the winners. Arnab Hossain Sangma among the boys and Aleya Khatun among the girls became the champions.
A raffle draw was also arranged where 20 lucky winners received prizes. The most attractive part of this I event was 'Dress as You Like'
