Two found dead in two districts
Two bodies were recovered from two districts -Habiganj and Khulna, in the last two days.
HABIGANJ: Body of a mentally-challenged youth was recovered from Jalalpur area of the Kushiara River on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Jubed Miah, 26, son of late Lal Miah of Dighalbak Village in Nabiganj Upazila of the district.
Police and locals said Jubed Miah went missing from January 8. Family members searched him in all possible places but could not trace him.
On Sunday afternoon, locals spotted the body of Jubed beside the Kushiara River. Later, family members of Jubed identified the body.
Officer-in-Charge Nabiganj Police Station Mohammad Iqbal Hossain said Jubed Miah was a mentally-challenged youth. He went missing few days back.
KHULNA: Police recovered a female college student's body from Tutpara area of the city on Friday.
The deceased was identified as Marzia Akhter Mukta, 26, wife of Zubayer Siddiqi of Hajji Mohsin Road in the city and a master's class student of Government Women's College in the city.
A first information report (FIR) was filed in this connection.
The FIR says, Mukta, daughter of Kazi Lutfor Rahman, got married with Zubayer, son of Abu Bakkar and an English teacher of a coaching centre at Tutpara area of the city, around five months back. It was Mukta's second marriage.
Since the marriage, Zubayer used to torture Mukta over dowry, according to the FIR. On Friday, he tortured and killed her.
On information, police recovered the body and sent it to Khulna Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
