Expatriate’s wife dies mysteriously in Cumilla

CUMILLA, Jan 12: A Bahrain expatriate's wife died mysteriously at Bainagar Village under Daudkandi Upazila of the district on Friday.
She was identified as Ayesha Akhter, 30, wife of Nur Alam of the village.
The deceased's father Shah Jalal said his daughter was married to Nur Alam eight years back.
Since then, the husband and his family members had been demanding dowry.
Shah Jalal said on Friday family members of Nur Alam mercilessly beat his daughter.
Later, she died in their house.
"After getting information, we went to the son-in-law's house.
Nur Alam informed from abroad by phone that my daughter had died from stroke," Shah Jalal added.
Sub-Inspector of Gauripur police outpost Jahangir Alam said they recovered the body and sent it to Cumilla Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy.
A case was filed in this connection.
