Homecoming Day observed amid scuffle between BCL activists

Homecoming Day of Bangabandhu was observed in Barishal amid scuffle between two groups of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) activists on Thursday morning.

Witnesses said BCL activists and leaders engaged in scuffle over standing at the front row while giving floral wreath at the portrait of Bangabondhu in front of the AL Barishal district and city office.

During the scuffle district BCL vice president Saiful Serniabad was physically assaulted by Rajib Hossain Khan and district BCL organizing secretary and his associate Royis Ahmed Manna.

At least four BCL activists of both groups were injured.

City and district AL leaders, including BCC Mayor Serniabat Sadik Abdullah, rushed to the spot from the office room and controlled the situation within few minutes.

Rajib, Manna and Saiful denied making any comment.

However, district BCL secretary Abdur Razzak said there were some minor misunderstandings over trifling matter and it was already settled.
