Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi on Wednesday said the problem of garment workers would be resolved within a month.
He also urged workers to return to their workplaces.
The Minister was speaking at an emergency press conference in the conference room of the Commerce Ministry at the Secretariat in the capital. The Minister said, "If a worker gets less salary due to the new salary structure, it will be adjusted to the next month's salary." A committee comprising five members from workers, five members of the BGMEA, including the Labour and Commerce Secretary, will work to remove the inconsistency in the new pay structure.
