CUB's new Pro-VC
Prof Dr Nazrul Islam formally joined as the new Pro-Vice-Chancellor of the Canadian University of Bangladesh (CUB) on 26th December, 2018.
CUB Vice-chancellor Prof Dr Mohammad Mahfuzul Islam received the new pro-vice-chancellor in a 'welcome ceremony' at the auditorium of the university. Dr Islam will shape the experience of future CUB graduates at a time when the university has committed to providing a tutorial based education system as part of its policy. He will work with academic and professional colleagues to develop a distinctive approach to curricula, embracing digitization and encouraging experimentation in and outside of the classroom.
Prior to joining as the Pro- VC, Dr Islam has served various private universities like NSU, EWU, BRAC and public universities like Khulna University of Bangladesh as a prominent educationist, administrative leader and researcher. He was a Professor and the Dean of Uttara University, Eastern University and East West University. He achieved "Education Leadership Award 2018" of CMO Asia and "Bangladesh Education Leadership Award 2017" for the Best Professor in Business Administration.
Prof Dr Islam thanked the Board of Trustees for assigning him as the Pro-Vice Chancellor. Dr Islam sought cooperation from both faculties and staff while he also assured to render his best to make CUB as one of the finest universities in the country.
Registrar Brig Gen Md Asaduzzaman Subhani (Retd.), Business School Head Associate Prof SM Arifuzzaman, and Business School Prof William H Derrenger, were present at the program.
