Journalists driven out of Old Dhaka centre

Police drove away journalists from Graduate High School polling centre on Tipu Sultan Road in Old Town of the capital Dhaka during the 11th parliamentary election on Sunday.

Assistant police sub-inspector Shafiq said journalists were asked to leave the centre around 1:30pm at the order of presiding officer Mizanur Rahman.

Electronic voting machined were used in the centre for vote casting under Dhaka-6 constituency. No agent of sheaf of paddy candidate was seen in the centre, according to a leading Bnagla daily site.





Jatiya Party leader Kazi Firoz Chowdhury and Gano Forum leader Subrata Chowdhury are the main contestants of the constituency.

Journalists were obstructed also at the gate of St Gregory School and College centre.
