Noticeable participation of Rajshahi women in election campaign

Extensive participation of women during Jatiya Sansand election campaign has been noticed in Rajshahi.

Women leaders think that it is awakening of women. Thursday was the last day of campaign for the upcoming parliamentary election. Women's participation in the last day of campaign was noticeable.

Since the beginning of campaign, participation of women activists in every mass contact has been seen. They conducted mass contact and campaign with male workers from morning till night. For this widespread participation of women, women leaders think it is empowerment of women.

It is learned that, after the allocation of symbols, campaigning began in six constituencies of Rajshahi. From then, women participated in campaign in city and villages. Women leaders of different organizations of Awami League have moved from one seat to another seeking vote.

They sought vote going to voters’ doorsteps. Different ages of women participated in all these campaigns. In public gathering, mass contact, public meeting and rally—there is equal participation of women.

Shahin Akhtar Reni, senior vice-president of city Awami League, participated in campaign every day since election campaign was officially started. She went to different wards of city to seek vote for Boat.

Reni said, “The picture of spontaneous participation of women in campaign says that women are now more active. Women are much more politically oriented.”

Rajshahi District Women's League President Morjina Parvin said, “We have seen spontaneous participation of women everywhere. We are hopeful the boat will again win with huge margin in this election.

Akhtar Jahan, MP of Rajshahi reserved seats, said that the pictures of spontaneous participation of women tell us how much country has progressed. “The participation of women in election campaigns has really fascinated us, she said.”

Senior Vice President of city's Women Association, Iffat Ara Kamal, said, "We have tried to go to every house from the beginning of election campaign. We received a huge response from them. They gave us support. They also believe in the spirit of development, democracy and Liberation War.”
