Crude bombs hurled at Meherpur BNP leader's house

Miscreants hurled two crude bombs at the house of Asaduzzaman Bablu, general secretary of Gangni upazila unit BNP at Chowgachha of Meherpur on Wednesday night.

The BNP leader's wife Tozbira Zaman said a gang of miscreants hurled two bombs targeting their house around 9pm.

They also fired multiple gunshots in the air, creating panic among the locals, she said.

Being informed, police went to the scene and started investigating the incident, said Harendra Nath Sarkar, officer in-charge of Gangni Police Station..

However, Asaduzzaman, also the former UP chairman, was out of home at that time for electioneering, said Tozbira, reports UNB.
