Awami League’s factional clash leaves 6 injured

At least six people were injured in a clash between two groups of the Awami League activists over dominating local politics at Rauha Namapara area in Gafargaon upazila of Mymensingh on Thursday.

According to local sources, the dispute between the Rafiqul member group and Md Khalil group was going on in the Raoha Nampara area over the domination of Awami League's local politics.

On Thursday, the two groups came in separate processions to the meeting organized for the formation of election committee of boat symbols on Rauha Technical School and College ground.

At the end of the meeting, both groups clashed near Zakir's house while going to the areas with separate processions.

Akhtaruzzaman, 35, Jewel, 35, and Mizanur Rahman, 17, were injured in the clash who were admitted to Gafargaon Upazila Health Complex.

Ruhul Khan, 40, Momin Khan, 55, and Bulbul, 35, were admitted to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital in a critical condition.
