BNP blames Badshah for violating code of conduct

The BNP has filed a written complaint against the ruling party candidate Fazle Hossain Badshah MP in Rajshahi-2 constituency for campaigning before the allotment of symbols.

In a letter signed by Oliul Haque Rana, chief electoral agent of BNP's nominee MP candidate Mizanur Rahman Minu complained, on Thursday.

It is learnt from the complaint that despite the Election Commission (EC) has banned election campaign before the allotment of symbols, but the Awami League and the grand alliance candidates broke the rule and continued mass contact in different constituencies with the help of law enforcing agencies, which was revealed in different newspapers.

By violating the instruction of the EC, the law enforcers are harassing BNP men in the name of searching and detained them without any case. Besides, panic has been created among the families of BNP activists by issuing threats.

In the complaint, they demanded immediate steps to speed up process to create a fair election environment and level playing field and to control harassment by the law enforcers.
