Trader shot dead by robbers

A trader was shot to death and three others were wounded by some robbers at Durgapur Sarker bari area in Ashulia early Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Abul Sarker, 55, son of Halim Sarker.

Ashulia Police Station OC Sheikh Rezaul Haque Dipu said a gang of robbers numbering 10/12 stormed the house of Abu Sarker breaking window grills and kept the house inmates hostage at gun point.

Robbers shot at Abu Sarkar as he intercepted the gang, leaving him dead on the spot.

Later, they looted several tolas of gold ornament and cash money from the house.

The gang members also took away his licensed pistol.

Being informed, a team of police visited the scene and sent the body to Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and Hospital morgue.
