As a part of the ongoing month-long art exhibition '18th Asian Art Biennale Bangladesh 2018' that started on September 1, Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy arranged a unique cultural event for the children at its National Art Plaza Auditorium, Segun Bagicha in the city. The event was inaugurated on September 14. Planned by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy director general Liaquat Ali Lucky, Karishma-a group of children with special needs recited poems, while noted magician Ulfat Kabir presented magic and Shilpakala Academy's acrobatic group presented acrobatic show at the event. In addition, a multimedia puppet show was held at the event.  A number of children at different ages took part at the event. The special cultural event for the children will be held every Friday from 3:30pm to 5pm throughout the month of September.

On the other hand, the '18th Asian Art Biennale Bangladesh 2018' exhibition remains open to all every day from 11am to 8pm until September 30. Needless it is to say that the Asian Art Biennale is a positive step and an optimistic approach in the development and progress of art in our country. If we clearly scrutinize and evaluate the development before and after the introduction of the biennale in 1981, we obviously see that the Bangladeshi art has showcased comparatively more vibrant and lively development during the last three decades than it did before. The biennale has provided a great opportunity to Bangladeshi artists to view the art works of foreign artists and thereby enrich their minds and work. I always feel that promising Bangladeshi painters are doing better than those of other South Asian countries.
