Observer journo honoured in Laxmipur
LAXMIPUR, Sept 12: District Correspondent of The Daily Observer Mohammad Rabiul Islam Khan got honorary crest for cooperating District Administration during covering final match of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman (Under-17) National Gold Cup Football Tournament.
The final match was held at the District Stadium on Tuesday.
Sadar Upazila Chairman A K M Salauddin Tipu, Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Shahjahan Ali, Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station Mohammad Lokman Hossain and Upazila Vice-Chairman Hafizulla were also present.
Laxmipur Press Club General Secretary Saidul Islam Pavel, Mohiuddin Bhuiyan Murad, Ferdous Ara Nayan, Rafiqul Islam, and Tapash Kumar Saha were also given crest. Earlier, Deputy Commissioner Anjan Chandra Pal attended the prize giving and concluding session of the tournament as chief guest. Sadar UNO Mohammad Shahjahan Ali presided over the programme.
Among others, Superintendent of Police ASM Mahtab Uddin, Laxmipur Municipality Mayor M A Taher, Sadar Upazila Chairman AKM Salauddin Tipu, Assistant Commissioner (Land) Sabbir Rahman Sunny, Upazila Vice-Chairman Hafiz Ullah, UP Chairman Mizanur Rahman and Abul Kashem were present as special guests.
In the final match, Joypur Union beat Laharkanda Union by 1-0 goal in Sadar Upazila.
