'Khaleda's treatment as per medical board's decision'

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia would be given treatment as per the decision of the medical board.
The minister informed this at a media briefing held after a meeting with a BNP delegation on Sunday afternoon.
"BNP leaders have expressed concern over the health condition of their party chief. They informed me that Kaleda Zia is sick in the jailhouse and demanded her treatment at the Apollo or United hospitals," said the minister replying to a query over Khaleda's treatment.
"I've talked to the IG prisons and the Home Secretary about the treatment of Khaleda Zia. they will take steps in this regard," he added.
The home boss also informed that a medical board will be formed over Khaleda's treatment, if needed and she would be provided treatment at a hospital to be recommended by the board.
"But, as per the jail code, the BNP Chairman is to get treatment at any government hospital," he mentioned.
Earlier, a seven-member delegation of the BNP, led by its Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, met the Home Minister at his Secretariat office in the afternoon to discuss matters relating to Khaleda Zia's release and treatment.
