Bangladeshi Reasat playing in Welsh Premier League
Bangladesh-born German footballer Reasat Islam Khaton is playing in the Welsh Premier League for Llanelli Town Association Football Club in Aberystwyth, Wales.
It is for the first time in the history a Bangladesh-born booter is playing in any top event of European football.
The Bangladeshi booter played his first match in Welsh Premier League on 18th August when his team won the match over Cefn Druids AFC. The 29-year athlete says that he wants to give such good news more.
Reasat who was born in 1989 in Dhaka had played for SC Freiburg Under-17 team of Germany at the early stage and most of his career he played for different German clubs. He had played for Pachanga Diliman of Philippines for one season in 2015 and was in Carrick Rangers of Northern Ireland last year.
Before joining Llanelli Town AFC, he was in another Welsh club Carmarthen Town AFC for only a while.
The booter had a dream to play for his country wearing the red and green jersey. He was called in the camp of the Bangladesh national team in 2013 yet he could not get into the final squad due to injury problem. In 2015, he was included in the Bangladesh national team yet he didn't get any chance to prove himself that time.
However, Reasat is not the only Bangladeshi to play in any European league. Before him, a Bangladesh descent Hamza Dewan Choudhury whose mother is a Bangladeshi and father is a Caribbean Grenadian had played English Premier League for Leicester City Football Club last year. Hamza was born in Loughborough, England.
