39,500 examinees of Dinajpur board fail in English
As many as 39,500 Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinees under Dinajpur Education Board failed in English subject that helped the board to be placed at the bottom of pass rate list.
A total of 62,173 students appeared at the examinations under the board. Of them, 43,861 or 60.21 percent of them passed.
The number of (Grade Point Average) GPA-5 holders are 2,297 which was 2,987 in the last year.
The board examination controller Md Tofazzur Rahman announced the HSC results 2018 at 1:00pm on Thursday.
On the day, the results of HSC and its equivalent examinations 2018 under ten education boards of the country was published.
The average pass rate is 66.64 per cent.
Of these, 64.55per cent passed in the HSC examinations, 78.67 per cent in Madrasah Board and 75.55per cent in Technical Board examinations.
The number of GPA-5 holder is 29, 262 which was 37, 969 in last year.
The pass percentage was dropped by 2.27 while the number of GPA-5 achievers fell by 8,464.
A total 13, 11,457 students participated in this year's HSC and its equivalent examinations which were held from April 2 to May 23.
