 Minor girl drowns in pond A minor girl drowned in a pond at Karuatali village in Akhaura upazila of Brahmanbaria district on Tuesday morning. Deceased Srabanti, 4, was the daughter of Swapan Rishi, a resident of the village, said Akhaura Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Mohammad Shamsuzzaman confirmed the matter. Local people rescued the minor girl in an unconscious state from the pond around 7:00am and took her to Akhaura Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared it dead, added the UNO.
