Two accused in a Chattogram youth Anik murder case were arrested in Kolkata and then handed over to Bangladesh.
A team of Special task Force of Kolkata Police arrested the duo from Free Street School area on Friday.
They are Mohiuddin Tushar, the main accused in the case, and Ekhlasur Rahman.
Chattogram Metropolitan Police deputy commissioner (south) Mostain Hossain told media that the two accused fled to India after the incident. Kolkata police detained them suspending their visas.
"The accused have been handed over to Bangladesh police on Benapole border. A team of CMP left Benapole for Chittagong with the accused," he added.
Indian media reported that the accused arrested based on the information given by the Bangladesh police. They were handed over to Bangladesh as per the extradition treaty.
Twenty-six-year-old MR Anik was gunned down at Chatteshwary Road in Chwakbazar area on June 17 over previous rivalry.
Anik's father, later, filed a case with Chwakbazar police accusing 12 Jubo League and Chhatra League activists.
