International seminar on Tagore held at IU

A daylong international seminar on “The influence of world literature on the Tagorean characterization of women” was held at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Saturday.


IU English department organised the seminar at Birshreshtha Hamidur Rahman central auditorium of the university around 11.30 am.


Vice Chancellor of the university Professor M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari addressed the seminar as the chief guest while pro-VC Professor M Shahinoor Rahman was present as special guest.


Professor Bina Biswas, former head of the English department of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad, also a Tagore scholar, addressed the seminar as the keynote speaker.


Professor Mia M Rashiduzzaman presided over the seminar.


More than five hundred teachers and students of the department attended the seminar.
