‘Agriculturists' role a must for country’s development’

SYLHET, Dec 23: Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith on Saturday said agriculturists can play a vital role to make Bangladesh a developed country.
He came up with the comments at Sylhet Agricultural University (SAU) campus while he was speaking as chief quest after inaugurating a portrayed of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
"As agriculture is the pillar of our economy, for making a developed country within 2041, agriculturists have to play vital role. The growth has increased based on technology through the amount of farming land decreased. And so use of technology in agriculture has to increased", Muhith said.
The minister said that, the present government will give all kinds of allowance and help in agriculture to increase growth.
Vice Chancellor of SAU Professor Golam Shahi Alam, Member of Parliament Mahmud Us Samad Chowdhury, Permanent Mission to the United Nations and former envoy AK Abdul Momen and local leaders of Bangladesh Awami Leagues were present at that time.
