Arrest of Moulvibazar double murder accused demanded
Moulvibazar : People irrespective of party affiliations demanded immediate arrest and exemplary punishment to the killers of two students--Shabab and Mahi.
The demand came from a human chain rally held in front of the district press club on Wednesday.
Leaders of different political parties, including Awami League and BNP, social organisations, students and common people participated in the human chain formed under the banner 'victims' families and sachetan Moulvibazarbasee.'
Shabab's mother Selina Rahman Chowdhury and Mahi's uncle M Ali Imran alleged that the main accused are still out of reach of police till 14 days after the murders despite the administration's assurance.
They also sought the Prime Minister's intervention in this regard.
Mohammad Ali Shabab, a second year (pass) student of Moulvibazar Govt College, and Nahid Ahmed Mahi, a SSC examinee from Moulvibazar Govt High School, were killed in front of a hostel of the high school at 6:30pm on December 7.
Later, Shabab's mother filed a murder case with Moulvibazar Model Police Station mentioning 12 names.
Three accused of the case have, so far, been arrested while the rest got away scot-free.
